Introducing the all-new 2024 Lexus GX, the brand's midsize off-road SUV that has undergone a much-anticipated facelift. This latest iteration of the GX stands out with its tough exterior design, while also boasting significant upgrades in terms of performance, technology, and overall modernity.

The 2024 GX is built on an all-new platform, sharing the body-on-frame basis with the Toyota Sequoia and Tundra. It finds its place in the Lexus SUV lineup between the flagship LX luxury off-roader and the TX SUV, which prioritizes interior space and on-road finesse.

Under the hood, the GX ditches the V8 engine found in the previous model and instead offers a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter V6 powertrain. This new engine delivers an impressive 349 horsepower, surpassing the power output of its predecessor. Paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission, the GX ensures a smooth and efficient driving experience. All variants come equipped with four-wheel drive for enhanced off-road capabilities.

The 2024 GX offers a range of trims to choose from, including Premium, Luxury, Over Trail, and more. The pricing starts around $60,000 for the base model, with the top-tier Over Trail variant reaching up to $80,000. Despite the significant redesign, Lexus aims to keep the price increase minimal compared to the current model.

Off-roading enthusiasts will appreciate the GX's terrain-taming hardware, with the Over Trail and Over Trail trims offering additional off-road features. These include 18-inch wheels with 33-inch all-terrain tires, an aluminum skid plate, an adaptive suspension system with increased wheel articulation, crawl control, and selectable drive modes for different terrains.

Step inside the GX, and you'll be greeted by a luxurious and comfortable interior. Genuine leather upholstery in various colors is available, while the Over Trail models add faux suede details in a stylish dark green hue. Premium and Luxury trims offer seating for up to seven people across three rows, with the option of a second-row bench or captain's chairs. The third-row seats come with power controls for added convenience.

Technology is well-integrated into the GX, featuring a wireless 14.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. A separate 12.3-inch digital gauge display provides customizable information for the driver. Multiple USB-C connections are available, and there is an optional wireless smartphone charging pad. Audiophiles can opt for the upgraded Mark Levinson surround sound system with 21 speakers for an immersive audio experience.

When it comes to fuel efficiency, the switch from a V8 to a twin-turbo V6 engine may not result in a significant improvement. The previous model had EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings of 15 mpg in the city and 19 mpg on the highway.

In summary, the all-new 2024 Lexus GX combines ruggedness with luxury, offering off-road enthusiasts a capable and modern SUV. With its refreshed design, upgraded powertrain, advanced technologies, and comfortable interior, the GX is set to deliver an exceptional driving experience.
